NATURE CLUB

The Nature Club at AWH College of Education functions to develop environmental awareness and instil eco-friendly values in teacher trainees. The Nature Club of AWH College of Education is a group dedicated to exploring, appreciating, and conserving the natural environment. Members gain knowledge about biodiversity, sustainability, and ecological responsibility through hands-on experiences and community involvement.Mr. Rajeev K. P. R., Assistant Professor of Natural Science, is the club's advisor.

The executive committee consists of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and publicity officer selected from among the student members. Regular meetings are conducted, and the club's activities are undertaken by the students themselves.

Objectives of the nature club
  • Promote environmental awareness by educating members about nature and its importance.
  • Encourage outdoor activities like hiking, bird watching, and tree planting to connect with nature.
  • Protect local wildlife and plants by organizing conservation efforts and clean-up drives.
  • Create a sense of responsibility for the environment in members and the wider community.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration through group projects focused on environmental sustainability.
Activities of Nature club
  • As part of World Forest Day, the club organized a program to raise awareness about the importance of forests on March 21, 2024. The program included a talk on the importance of maintaining and preserving forests, a creature identification contest, nature bingo etc.
  • As part of World Water Day, a poster-making competition was conducted on March 22, 2024.
  • World Environment Day was celebrated in June 2024. A quiz, slogan writing competition, pledge, printed thumb impression on a white chart, and planting trees on the campus were conducted.
  • The nature club of the 2024-2026 batch conducted a mobile photography contest on 23.10.2024 based on the theme "Nature and Life."
